Katy Short started her Photography business for several reasons. She is extroverted and wanted to stay connected to other adults, she wanted to have a professional environment that she could be proud of, and she knew she wanted to pay something forward somehow. But, she was only charging $125 a session. So, when Katy did 17 family sessions in 5 weeks, she just didn’t feel like she made enough money to justify the time away from her family. And she was completely worn out! Katy got to the point where she did not even speak up about her business to people looking for family photos. But how to go about figuring out how to charge what you’re worth?

ALL THAT WORK WITH VERY LITTLE TO SHOW FROM IT. WE KNOW THAT MUST HAVE BEEN TOUGH ON YOU! HOW DID YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU NEEDED TO CHARGE YOUR CLIENTS?

I learned what my Cost of Doing Business (CODB) was. Profitography showed me that until you have the tools to break down what it costs you to be a Photographer, you do not realize how much you value the time with your family and how to charge what you’re worth!

WE ARE ALL WORTHY OF CHARGING ENOUGH TO MAKE A LIVING, THAT’S FOR SURE! SHARE WITH US YOUR BIGGEST WIN SINCE PROFITOGRAPHY.

My biggest win so far came from the family who was first to pay my new premium pricing I set for myself after taking Profitography. The win wasn’t about the price they paid, it was all in the review that they left me! “After hiring Katy to take newborn photos of our daughter, I can happily say we have found our family photographer! Katy demonstrated the highest level of professionalism every step of the way. She was very accommodating and scheduled the photo session at our home on very short notice. She was wonderful with our daughter, and our toddler son warmed up to her immediately. She sent our pictures very quickly and, most importantly, delivered the most beautiful photos of our family. I highly recommend Katy for capturing your family’s special moments, and look forward to working with her again!”

WHEN YOU FIND CLIENTS WHO VALUE YOU AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WORTH, IT IS SUCH AN AMAZING FEELING! WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ANYONE THINKING OF ENROLLING IN PROFITOGRAPHY? IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT BOTH IN TIME AND MONEY?

Profitography is definitely worth the time and money. My did said it best, “when you are trying to be your best, you will reach a point where you need a mentor, guidance, or class to help you improve on anything in life, and it’s not about implementing everything you learn, but in deciding what is best for you and applying that part in the best way possible.” I feel like Profitography gives everyone that opportunity. It has so many great tools and takeaways. Maybe you do use every tool in the class, or maybe you start with a few and add as you go. But, either way, you feel more confident and ready to set your business apart from the competition and create a unique business and service you are proud of!

Katy, we are so glad that you got so much out of taking Profitography! We love seeing your growth and hearing about your WINS. We are so happy to be a part of your Photography journey. Keep up the amazing work!
