INTRODUCING: Stacie Hubbard Photography

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE BUSINESS?

One year

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS FIRST PICTURE?

This picture was taken 3 years ago when I decided I wanted to take my passion & hobby of Photography to a higher level & start my own business. Upon the advice of a good friend & Photographer, I bought a 50mm 1.4 lens for my Canon Rebel, & started shooting. I was really proud of this shot! I found back light! Look at that sun in her hair! The background had a perfect (or so I thought) bokeh. I was on my way! Ha!

NOW THAT YOU ARE MORE EXPERIENCED, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THIS FIRST PICTURE, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS WRONG WITH IT?

Well, the back light is still great! But, the subject is completely underexposed, & my highlights in the sky are totally blown out! There is no depth or wow factor to this shot at all.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THIS SECOND PICTURE?

This second pic is my current favorite. At the moment, I love everything about this picture. The layering of the tall grasses. The way the sky pops, & the skin tone is beautiful. I also love the more natural expression she has on her face! I just love the colors in this shot, beautiful, neutral palette. The bokeh is great, & there is still a touch of sunshine in her hair! My favorite thing about this photo is that I was using the same Canon Rebel & the same 50mm 1.4 lens!

WHAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS THAT CONTRIBUTED TO YOUR GROWTH AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?

The two biggest things that have contributed to my growth are community & education! Joining Facebook groups, like The Snap Society Community, Rising Tide, & others have truly inspired me & encouraged me to keep pursuing personal growth. And education is HUGE! I feel these two pictures prove that. I didn’t buy a new professional camera, or have a top of the line lens. I simply learned how to properly use the photography equipment I had, & that is priceless. Now that I have upgraded to a professional camera, I’m ready to grow some more!

Thank you for sharing, Stacie! Beautiful improvement.
